    Erin Pratt is the Principal and Director of Rockhampton Academy of Dancing, bringing more than 25 years of teaching experience and a lifelong passion for dance to the Academy.

    Beginning her own dance journey at just two years of age, Erin developed a love for dance and teaching from an early age, becoming a student teacher at 14.

    She went on to study Performing Arts at university and has undertaken extensive training across Classical Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Contemporary and Musical Theatre.

    Throughout her own dance training, Erin successfully completed examinations in Classical Ballet, Tap and Jazz, achieving outstanding examination results, including 100% Distinction in two Royal Academy of Dance ballet examinations.

    Erin is a Registered Teacher and Member of the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) and a Registered Teacher and Member of the Australasian Dance Association (ADA).

    She holds the Royal Academy of Dance Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies, is a Certified Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) teacher and an RAD Silver Swans Licensee and Ready Set Dance Licensee. Erin also holds a current Blue Card and First Aid certification.

    A strong believer that great teachers should never stop learning, Erin continues to undertake professional development, teacher education and her own ongoing dance training.

    She is passionate about continually expanding her knowledge and remaining up to date with current teaching practices, dance technique, conditioning and safe dance training.

    Throughout her career, Erin has successfully trained and prepared students for RAD and ADA examinations, competitions, stage productions and elite training pathways, with her dancers achieving outstanding results.

    Past students have gained acceptance into full-time dance programs including Ministry of Dance and Patrick Studios Australia, now Patrick School of the Arts, before progressing to professional performance contracts, including First Cast aboard Celebrity Cruises’ Celebrity Millennium and contracts with Norwegian Cruise Line.

    Erin has also trained students who have been accepted into Queensland Ballet Academy’s full-time training program and Guest Academy Program (GAP), with students continuing through elite training pathways and progressing towards professional careers in dance.

    Erin also has a strong passion for choreography and creating opportunities for dancers to perform. She loves bringing ideas to life through movement, music and storytelling, and has choreographed extensively for competitions, stage productions and full-scale studio performances.

    For Erin, choreography is an opportunity to develop each dancer’s artistry, musicality, confidence and performance quality, while creating memorable experiences for both her students and audiences.

    As Principal, Erin is passionate about providing high-quality, safe and technically sound dance education for every student.

    Whether a dancer attends one class each week for enjoyment and development, is working towards examinations and competitions, aspires to elite or full-time training and a professional performing career, or dreams of becoming a dance teacher themselves, Erin believes every dancer deserves the same level of care, encouragement and quality training.

    Her teaching focuses on developing strong technique, artistry, musicality, confidence, discipline and performance quality, while nurturing each dancer as an individual.

    Erin’s greatest reward is watching her students grow, achieve their own goals and develop a lifelong love of dance.

  • Ebony Gottschleigh, Teacher

    Ebony Gottschleigh (Miss Ebony)

    Teacher, ARAD RTS

    Teaching since she was 14. ARAD, a Royal Academy of Dance Registered Teacher and ADA Jazz through to Gold Star. Ebony teaches Classical Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Lyrical, Acro and Junior Tap.

    Dance has been part of Ebony’s life from the very beginning. Born into a family with a strong passion for dance, Ebony attended her first dance class at just 18 months old and has continued to develop her love of dance, performing and teaching ever since.

    Ebony’s passion for teaching began at a young age, becoming a student and assistant teacher at just 14. Since then, she has gained many years of practical teaching experience working with dancers across a range of ages, abilities and dance styles.

    Ebony has undertaken extensive training in Classical Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Lyrical, Acro and Tap. She successfully completed her Royal Academy of Dance examinations through to Advanced 2 and holds Associate of the Royal Academy of Dance (ARAD) status. She has also successfully completed ADA Jazz examinations through to Gold Star.

    In 2026, Ebony successfully graduated from the Royal Academy of Dance Certificate in Dance Teaching and became a Royal Academy of Dance Registered Teacher. Her professional teacher training has further developed her knowledge of ballet technique, safe dance practice, lesson planning, child development and creating positive, engaging learning environments for dancers of all ages and abilities. Ebony also holds a current Blue Card and First Aid certification.

    A talented and versatile performer, Ebony has competed successfully in eisteddfods from a young age and has performed leading roles in numerous stage productions. In 2022, she performed the title role of Maleficent in Rockhampton Academy of Dancing’s production Once Upon a Time at the Pilbeam Theatre.

    Ebony is a dedicated and caring teacher who teaches across a range of ages and styles, including Classical Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Lyrical, Acro and Junior Tap. She is passionate about helping every dancer develop strong technique, confidence, artistry and a genuine love of dance.

    Ebony takes great pride in watching her students grow and progress and strives to create a positive environment where every dancer feels supported, challenged and encouraged to reach their individual potential.

    She continues to further her own knowledge and professional development and is passionate about growing as both a teacher and dancer while inspiring the next generation of young performers.
